long overdue internet

Ich habe endlich Internet in Siegen! 

- Mal eine Empfehlung am Rande: Solltet Ihr Euch einen neuen Internetanschluss zulegen wollen, dann bestellt bloß nicht bei 1&1 (auch, wenn der Preis sehr verlockend ist), da könnt Ihr 6 Wochen auf den Anschluss warten und werdet am Telefon von den Mitarbeitern auch noch beleidigt, wenn Ihr Fragen zu Eurer Bestellung habt oder es seltsam findet, dass man Euch nur Informationen per Internet schickt, obwohl Ihr ja gar keine Möglichkeit habt, online zu gehen und Eure E-Mails abzurufen (darum ja die Bestellung). - Bloß ein Einzelfall, denkt Ihr? Ein Einzelfall wäre es, wenn es bei 1&1 einmal anders abliefe als ich beschrieben habe! Mehrere meiner Kommilitonen haben mir ähnliches berichtet...

Abgesehen von dem anfänglichen Internetentzug habe ich mich aber sehr gut hier eingelebt. Tolle Leute, toller Studiengang, tolle Stadt :) Glaubt Ihr mir nicht?! Ich werd's beweisen! :D

DIY: Baby Chicks

Gerade ein paar Tage alt und schon ganz flauschig und aufgeweckt: Acht wunderschöne Kuschelküken sind am Sonntag und am Montag in meiner Brutmaschine geschlüpft. 

Das Do it yourself für die Küken-Brutmaschine gibt's hier. 

(Aber bitte vergesst nicht, dass Tiere keine Spielzeuge sind!)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm back! But: Where have I been so long? I tell you: 2 months in  hospital. I had a plastic surgery, a boob job. - Haha... No, I'm kidding. No boob job. I just had some health problems. Don't worry, I'm okay. But it was a stressful time, because after my discharge my father was admitted to hospital and operated.

So... now I'm back with some good news. 

- I bought a new car, a golden Daewoo Kalos - I miss my old car, but it was absolutely essential to buy a new one.

- I let my hair grow again. At the moment everybody would ask "Did a lawnmower cut her hair?", but it's worth it!

- Pirates of the Caribbean 4 will hit the cinemas tomorrow - yeah!

- I built an egg incubator. - On sunday the chicks hatch (:

- About 3 months ago I broke up with my old boyfriend and I'm happy to have a new one. - "...and they lived happily ever after." :D

Uh, there are some other news, but I don't want to tell you everything right away. This is on the down-low. Soon...

 

Sign of Life

Ein Lebenszeichen von mir. 

Ja, ich lebe noch. Allerdings nicht "Zuhause". - Deswegen kein Internet. Habe viel aufzuarbeiten, viele Gedanken, viele Erkenntnisse. Versuche den Blog nicht zu vernachlässigen, aber das gelingt mir nicht. - Gibt wichtigeres. (Nicht wahr?!)

Ich zeichne weiter. Immer weiter. Vielleicht hilft es.

I have to work up a lot of things. Try not to neglect my blog, but I just can't manage it. - There is more to life. (Right?!)

I feel like Eeyore

Ich fühle mich seit einer Weile wie der Esel I-Ah aus Winnie the Pooh. Deswegen möchte ich schnellstmöglich die Stadt verlassen. In den nächsten Tagen muss ich noch einige Termine einhalten und mich darauf vorbereiten. Ich weiß noch nicht, ob ich hierher zurückkomme. Ich denke nicht.

Translation:

I feel a little bit like donkey Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. I want to leave this town as soon as possible. In the next few days I have some appointments and have to prepare everything for my  leaving. I don't know whether I'd come back. I don't think so.

7 Dinge über mich - 7 facts about me

1. Ich kaufe seit ein paar Monaten jede Ausgabe von Burda Style, obwohl ich noch sehr ungeübt im Nähen bin. Ich liebe die Schnitte darin und würde am liebsten alle nachnähen.

I buy each issue of the Burda Style magazine, although I am very unversed in sewing. I love all the patterns in it and would love to sew them all.

2. Als ich etwa 10 Jahre alt war, habe ich mir mehr als alles andere einen süßen kleinen Hund  zum Knuddeln gewünscht. Stattdessen habe ich Hühner bekommen und ihnen vor lauter Enttäuschung alles beigebracht, was auch ein Hund gekonnt hätte. - Außer Bellen natürlich. (:

When I was 10 years old I've liked to have more than anything else a cute little dog. But instead I got some chickens and taught them everything what a dog could do. - Except of barking. (:

3. Ich sammel Gedanken und Zitate zu den unterschiedlichsten Themen des Lebens in einem kleinen Büchlein. Wenn ich nicht mehr weiter weiß, blätter ich es oft durch und versuche mich daran zu erinnern, wer ich bin.

I collect thoughts and quotes on various topics of life in a small booklet. If I am at a loss I often thumb through it and try to remind me who I am.

4. Ich mag meine Haare nicht. Sie drehen und wellen sich in alle Richtungen, da hilft nur ultrastarkes Haarspray - aber wer will schon harte Haare?

I don't like my hair, because it always looks scraggly.

  
5. Immer, wenn ich shoppen gehe, kaufe ich mir mindestens ein Kleid. - Meistens mehrere.

When I go shopping I buy at least one dress.

6. Ich mag verrückte Menschen mit verrückten Ideen. Dann habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich ich selbst sein darf, ohne verurteilt zu werden.

I like crazy people with crazy ideas. Because I have the pleasurable feeling that I may be myself without being adjudged.

7. Sehr selbstsichere und selbstbewusste Menschen machen mich unheimlich unsicher. So ist es leider.

Confident people scare the hell out of me. Yes, it's true. I'm afraid so.
